A mortar analysis helps in ascertaining the characteristics, performance and failures of lime mortars. These days one can adopt a number of scientific techniques for analysing the lime mortar used on a monument. The analysis can also be used for obtaining a precise ratio of lime mortar in conservation and restoration works.

Stone Matching

Stone masonry can be sampled from existing buildings using a small diameter diamond core drill, allowing fresh stone to be obtained with minimal intervention. We at Heritage Conservators do this analysis of stone matching using techniques like examining the thin section of the stone. We also facilitate latest laboratory examinations including X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope and Engineering Laboratory testing on special requests.
